Coming up with design ideas for your new bathroom may be one of the most exciting parts of the process!
But maybe you are having some difficulty coming up with ideas.
For our clients looking for design ideas, we recommend looking at current trends in bathroom design.
2022 is full of exciting and beautiful new trends, and we are so excited to share them with you that this week’s blog is dedicated to some of our favourites.
Read on and get inspired!
1. NATURAL AND SPA-LIKE SURFACES, COMBINED
Everyone loves a serene spa-like feel in a bathroom, but adding more natural and organic elements like wood will create more interest in your space without removing a feeling of flow or harmoniousness.
For example, go for a classic marble countertop but incorporate light oak wood touches in shelving.
2. INCORPORATING GREENERY
It’s no secret that humans love nature, and we feel more at home when we have character in our homes.
Bringing plants into your bathroom space is a win-win situation: many plants appreciate a humid environment while purifying the air, fighting odour, and providing antibacterial properties.
You can build a plant stand into your bathroom design to save space on your countertops!
3. WARM, NEUTRAL AND EARTHY TONES
Grey and white have been designer darlings for quite some time, but there is a change in the air! Creams, beiges, nudes and browns bring back the cozy into bathroom spaces.
This trend pairs well with #1, combining more natural tones with your classic spa look.
4. SMOKED GLASS
This idea also pairs well with warm and earthy tones: smoked glass! This trend is making a return from the 70s. It offers depth and colour and greater privacy for shower users. We think it looks way nicer than frosted glass.
5. HIGH-TECH SHOWERHEADS
Today’s showerheads offer so many options. Some even have digital valves that give you precise digital temperature controls.
And that’s just the beginning!
Have fun playing with different options – they can take your showering experience to the next level of luxury.
6. FREE-STANDING TUBS AND WET ROOMS
A free-standing tub is timeless and elegant – and 2022 is no exception! The latest trend is to pair a free-standing tub with a wet room, an open concept tiled bathing room with a significant drain. Wet rooms are usually not enclosed, giving your bathroom an airy and inviting feel.
7. EXTRA-THICK COUNTERS
Extra-thick countertops instantly give a vanity a more impressive, high-end look.
And we mean thick: up to six inches, instead of the usual one or two inches. Marble makes these counters pop, but if that’s out of your budget, consider coloured quartzite.
